30-Day Paleo Challenge: Day 21

Centered on commonly available modern foods, the “contemporary” Paleolithic diet consists mainly of meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, roots, and nuts, and excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar, and processed oils.

You may notice something out of the ordinary below: peanuts. Woops. These aren’t paleo-friendly because they contain lectins and are legumes, not nuts. I read this some time ago and just remembered it as I was composing this post. For some reason, I was just thinking “nuts” today when I was at a gas station looking for something I could eat. Fortunately, I ate less than one ounce total. This may seem nit-picky to some of you, but like I said before, it’s either paleo or it isn’t. 

  • Breakfast: Mixed fruit, Iced Venti Americano, peanuts
  • Lunch: Deli roast beef, cherry tomatoes, red raspberries, blackberries
  • Snack: Deli roast beef, cherry tomatoes, red raspberries, blackberries, almonds, peanuts, coffee
  • Dinner: Chipotle - burrito bowl with chicken, steak, lettuce, salsa and guacamole
  • Snack: Almonds, carrots, cherry tomatoes, raspberries
